Why work in the mining industry?
Although
work in the mining industry can be physically demanding, there are a number
of benefits, such as:

Over the next decade it is estimated that an additional 70,000 new workers will be needed on mine sites throughout Australia.
In fact we are seeing that with the Australia Federal government spending up large on infrasctructure projects (some 84 billion dollars), that mine sites are again now having difficulty recruiting suitable staff to fill roles. The new infrastructure projects are particularly taking up workers with welding, engineering and rigging skills, though there are many other mining roles currently needing to be filled in the industry.
This is all good news for job seekers, especially as demand for Australian minerals from China and other countries is again growing the industry.
At the moment there are shortages of workers who are willing to work in particular in remote areas, which is serving to again increase wage rate across the board.
